It's been a while since we've mailed you. (We try to be respectful
like that.) But there's something important that you should know.
We're decommissioning some older versions of the Daylife API on July
1. If you're using CL4.0 or CL 4.1, you'll need to update your code
to use a newer version of the Daylife API.
**OUT WITH THE OLD**
**Decommissioning CL 4.0 and CL 4.1 on July 1**
We've deprecated some older versions of the Daylife API.
Specifically, we're deprecating Compatibility Levels 4.0 and 4.1 (ie
CL 4.0 and CL 4.1). Each was released in 2007, and we've improved the
API several times since then. (The most current supported CL is 4.8)
That means (as you likely know) that we suggest that you migrate your
Daylife API using applications as soon as possible to a supported
version of the Daylife API.
On July 1, 2009, we'll formally decommission CL's 4.0 and 4.1, so
you'll for sure need to update your applications before that date.
**Deprecating CL 4.2 on June 1**
On June 1, 2009, we'll deprecate CL 4.2. So, while you're at it, you
should avoid using that CL as well. Again, the current version of the
Daylife API is CL 4.8
We'll decommission CL 4.2 on September 1, 2009, after which CL 4.2
will no longer be available.
**IN WITH THE NEW: CL 4.8**
If you're still lingering on an older version of the Daylife API (not
many of you are...), there's plenty of reason to move to the latest
release as soon as you can squeeze it in:
* Improved data quality, across the board
* Bug fixes a-plenty.
* Improved performance.
Finally, we've got a pile of new features that are coming out of
testing in the next couple of weeks.
The new features will roll into the latest CL, so you won't be able
to use them unless you upgrade your application.
Look for an email highlighting these new features next Tuesday!
John, Vineet, and the rest of the Daylife team.
