There can be following consequences:

1. Once OM integration with PA is integrated there can be retroactive changes in PA if PA and OM data are not fully cosistent. It is possible to manage via overwriting IT0003 that triggers tretro-calculation.

2. As it was mentioned, impact on payroll posting. If OM data will flow to PA and if it is not cosnistent with existing PA data you can have inconsistecies in payroll posting.
