I created custom infotypes for the following reasons:
1. Infotype 1 to capture survey and salary information for specific jobs
2. Infotype 2 to display Performance and work history from a previous legacy system for employees
3. Infotype 3 to allow capture job hiring information so we can track how people are hired, the costs, etc..
4. Infotype 4 used to capture specific info needed for ADP requirements and for employee transfered information
There are a lot of reasons for using custom infotypes. All these were created after thorough investigation of what SAP offers first.
Normally it is most useful to create custom infotypes when you cannot find a way to track the information using SAP HR or it is too cumbersome for the users and it would simplify their process to have a custom infotype with all information on 1 screen...
